Feedtea and China's Feed Market

Feedtea is a newly released Chinese feed management service, presently under alpha test period, it provides many useful functions that a feed service provider supposed to have, such as FeedUnit, stats, custom domain and Ad system. Basically, I think feedtea is able to realize most of the features that feedburner and feedsky has, and in some particular area feedtea may do better. However, the feedtea team has a long way to go.

First, this Jinan-based team has only 12 employees, and is only 6-month-old(since November 2006), as young as their feed management platform. Second, the feed cake of China market has been carved up by BSP-feeds giant Feedsky and independet-blogs-feeds winner feedburner. And third, feedtea is fresh name to most feed users, promotion will be the key.

Looking at the familiar UI and control panel, I suppose feedtea must has learned a lot from their biggest domestic rival Feedsky , the biggest feed management in the world, which just announced they are going to enter US market. Feedsky has been silence for a period of time, one of my friend told me that feedsky had been busy with their feed crawl robot, he also suggested that if feedsky want to beat feedburner they should give up the low-value BSP feeds which deplete most of their servers resources.

Associating with the news that feedburner is in process of making universal languages support, I'm sure all of three feed management providers will face more competition in the near future.
