Flickr photos banned

Flickr's mainland users may notice that a part of photos quoted from flickr are unavailable today, but it's still OK to visit the homepage and to login your account.

Williamlong guess(in Chinese) all the problems are caused by the Great Fire Wall(GFW) which banned the domain names of farm1.static.flickr.com and farm2.static.flickr.com, thereby, pictures that located under the two domain names are banned.

Any reasons of baning this excellent photos share websites? So many! Especially in this June, like Xiamen people's march against PX project happened on 1st June and someone did a live report of the whole process on flickr.

a special proxy from google

kunshou discovered a secret "web proxy" from google when he was surfing on the net using his blackberry cellphone, however he didn't tell us the name of the service and I can't find its name either.

Converting all the websites into the cellphone mode automatically, this amazing mobile service also allow users to visit websites that can't be visited in mainland China. For example, my blog, which has been blocked by the Great Fire Wall for a couple of days, now is visible through this new address encoded by the service. The converted websites are not as good as the original ones, because they are redesigned for mobile phone web browsers, but it's better than nothing.

Address of the different proxy : http://www.google.com/gwt/n
